I agree the day boater accommodations in Beulah are pretty poor and could be made more friendly without too much work. Charge a modest fee for the use of the launch and use the money during peak summer periods, to hire somebody with a golf cart to help direct traffic and shuttle drivers from/to their cars to speed things up. Provide for Village taxpayers to get a free or reduced rate and provide for seasonal passes (Frankfort does this at their Betsie Lake launch). Provide tie-ups, temporary dock space, temporary mooring or something so that boaters can go into town for a bit without putting their boat back on the trailer.

There's some really good ideas out there, some will cost very little. Everybody hates to see the town "roll up the sidewalks" after 5:00 pm! Beulah can't compete with Frankfort, but maybe try a Thursday & Friday with the retailers until 8 pm or so.

Boat trailer parking... If I had to put my boat in and walk 1/2 mile to park the trailer which is not unrealistic.... my business in the village would be over! The public swimming beach is WAY TOO BIG! It's a waste! Take 50' down by the T-docks for people to beach personal watercraft and maybe the village could place a few moorings with a 'no liability' warning posted. They could also leave 20-30' at the bath house so boaters could come in and use the 'potties' and maybe run up-town for a sandwich or coffee!

The swimming area does not need to be 1,000' long! Let the poor boaters who have to walk a 1/2 mile to park their trailers enjoy the beach! or buy a sandwich or coffee! The beach size has not changed since at least when I started using it back in the late 1950's, but maybe it's time for a little change!

Also.... thank you all for referring to the camping park as an "RV" park instead of a "trailer park". Improving the image for the village can be so simple!

Thanks..... Pat Frishett

We live in lower eastern part of the state. Love Beulah. Visit 3-4 times a year.
Wish more places stayed open a little later - ice cream, after dinner drink, etc.
We used to "love" the Cafe Bravo - fabulous freshly made food, but having no liquor license, the owner told us, killed his business. We agreed w/him - people don't want to have a quiet dinner and drink sodas. We always felt the church to the north of the cafe, was wrong to intercede w/his success.
