I'd like to re-emphasize the importance of keeping the environmental/conservation concerns at the forefront of discussion and implementation. For example, if we get various volunteer groups doing gardening, etc., can we form guidlines for them regarding chemical fertilizers & pesticides? As suggested at the meeting, can we urge use of native, deep-rooted plants to minimize the need for watering? Perhaps the signage could include suggestions to the public for recycling, cleaning up, etc. to help with the volume of trash.
